How To Apply Serum on Face

Serums have gained massive popularity in recent years, and are now being incorporated into multitasking products like serum-oils and serum cream facial moisturizers. But what makes serums so special - and why do you need to add a serum to your skincare routine? Read on to find out!

What Are Serums?

Serums are a skincare product, typically applied after cleansing and toning skin and before applying moisturizer. These silky liquid products have either a water or an oil base, and they are potent formulas with concentrated ingredients to address skin issues. Due to their unique texture and ingredient concentration, serums absorb into skin more easily. As a result, you don’t have to rub serums in excessively or apply copious amounts of product to reap the benefits.

Different serum ingredients are appropriate for various purposes. For example, one serum may target dry skin needing hydration, while other formulas might help keep blemish-prone skin clear and balanced.

What Ingredients Should I Look For in Serums?

Serums can address a wide variety of skin issues, so you can select a serum that suits your needs. Here are a few popular ingredients and how they could benefit your skin:

VITAMIN C
If you struggle with discoloration, want to support a youthful-looking competition, or spend extended amounts of time in the sun, this antioxidant is for you. We recommend keeping your eyes peeled for antioxidants like vitamin C in your serums.

GREEN TEA EXTRACT

Tea polyphenols, like green tea extract, are beneficial thanks to their soothing properties that can ease your skin after exposure to the sun. Serums formulated with green tea extract are excellent for soothing irritated skin and reducing redness.

COLLAGEN
Collagen peptide serums can help bring back the look of much-needed fullness to the skin and can reduce the appearance of creasing. Collagen peptides help skin to look more youthful, plump, and rejuvenated.

GLYCOLIC ACID

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, also known as AHA, which has skin-smoothing benefits. This form of AHA aids in cell turnover and exfoliation, which helps to reveal smoother, more even looking skin.

RETINOL
Retinol, or Vitamin A1, is a fat-soluble vitamin with a plethora of anti-aging benefits. This powerful ingredient can help to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, shed dead skin cells, and even help to reduce acne.

How Should I Use Serum in My Skincare Routine?

Begin with your favorite cleanser to remove makeup, oil, and dead skin cells and allow serum to penetrate the skin. Next, use a toner to double-cleanse skin, if desired.

Serums are potent, meaning they don’t need to be applied in thick layers. You should follow the instructions included with your serum. We recommend adding a drop or two in your hands and sweeping your hands in gentle upward motions onto the face to help the product absorb.

Once you’ve applied your serum, move on to your heavier, protective products like sunscreen and moisturizer. The exact process can be repeated at night.

NuFACE: Innovating Serum Application

If you’re looking for effective serums that have been meticulously formulated with high-quality, clean ingredients, you’re in the right place! NuFACE expertly develops each of their Super Booster serums with a team of expert aestheticians to ensure that they are effective, gentle, and safe for everyday use.

Microcurrent Advancements

NuFACE is the trusted pioneer in microcurrent technology, developing at-home microcurrent devices to lift, tone, and contour skin. In addition to microcurrent skincare devices, the experts at NuFACE have developed microcurrent skincare to conduct microcurrent, enhance results, and target unique skin needs.

Super Booster Serums

NuFACE Super Booster serums are uniquely formulated to not only enhance microcurrent results when used with a NuFACE microcurrent device and activator, but to also effectively nourish and treat the skin long after your lifting session.

Super Vita-C Booster Serum targets dull-looking skin with potent Vitamin C. This booster serum revitalizes skin, reduces discoloration, and evens skin tone. With the precise blend of vitamin c and niacinamide, it brightens skin and can even help to address discoloration from sun damage. In addition, Super Vita-C Booster is clean and safe to use on sensitive skin.

Super Peptide Booster Serum harnesses the power of triple peptide complex to plump and firm skin while adding radiance. Carnosine and edelweiss flowers tone the skin, and peony root extract enhances skin radiance.

Super Antioxidant Booster Serum protects against the oxidative stress of blue light - so if you’re often in front of a laptop or phone screen, this product is a must-have. With antioxidant blend, this super booster helps to ease inflammation, protect, and nourish skin.

How We Apply Our Serums

All NuFACE Super Booster serums contain IonPlex®, which enhances microcurrent results. You can use Super Booster serums alone, or paired with your NuFACE microcurrent device and activator to boost your lifting treatment.

Our experts recommend applying serum by adding a few drops to clean fingers, rubbing together, and then gently massaging into clean, dry skin in upwards strokes. If you are performing a microcurrent treatment, follow up with a NuFACE Microcurrent Activator to conduct microcurrent from your device deep down to facial muscles, then perform glides and holds to achieve your perfect lift.
If you’re using Super Boosters as a stand-alone product, you can follow up with your favorite SPF and moisturizer to lock in skin-loving ingredients and protect skin.
